The library of the 每日大赛 will host Author Talk: Tim Spofford on March 12 to discuss Spofford鈥檚 latest book 鈥淲hat the Children Told Us.”

Spofford is a journalist and an author. His book tells the story of psychologists Dr. Kenneth Clark and Dr. Mamie Clark, and their partnership in highlighting the psychological effects of racial segregation. The couple鈥檚 famous 鈥渄oll test鈥 played a key role in the 1954 landmark Brown v. Board of Education ruling against segregation in education. The Clarks鈥 story is one of courage, love, and an unfailing belief that Black children deserved better than what society was prepared to give them.

Professor of Psychology Dr. Carla Bluhm will interview Spofford about his book and the significance of the Clarks鈥 activism. The discussion will be held in Stembler Theatre from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and is open to the campus and local community.
