The ASN program at Coastal Georgia is one of the best values in nursing education. It consistently ranks highly among similar nursing programs. The program focuses on student engagement and offers innovative and interactive learning opportunities. We believe that students are individuals who bring varying life experiences, education, occupational history, and personal attributes to the program. Because of this belief, the faculty are noted to be approachable, compassionate, and supportive. Combined, the faculty have many years of experience in nursing practice and in nursing education.
Our programs utilize state-of-the-art medical-grade equipment and engage students in dynamic interdisciplinary simulation experiences. Simulation in nursing education lets students safely practice clinical skills and decision-making in realistic scenarios. Classroom and clinical experiences are designed to develop students’ clinical judgement and clinical reasoning for optimal patient outcomes.
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences has developed important partnerships with a number of healthcare agencies and hospital systems, including Brunswick, Savannah, Waycross, Camden, and Jacksonville.
The curriculum covers essential nursing theory, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and patient assessment, integrating classroom lectures with hands-on labs and state-of-the-art simulation training. Throughout the program, students develop skills in medication administration, patient care, critical thinking, clinical judgement, and interprofessional collaboration. Program emphasizes holistic care, patient advocacy, and applying evidence-based practice. With a focus on NCLEX-RN readiness and strong community support.
Graduates of the ASN program are prepared to take the national examination (NCLEX-RN) leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse.听
After passing the NCLEX-RN, graduates of the ASN program will be prepared to work as registered nurses in areas such as hospital/acute clinical settings, outpatient care, personal care, physician’s offices, long-term/skilled care facilities, and many other roles.
